Internet Access in Greece Rises by 69.2% in the Last Nine Years, Study Finds

Greece-internet-addiction-greek-reporter-ANA-MPAA recent study conducted by ELSTAT, Greece’s Statistics Authority, found that internet access in Greek households has increased by nearly 70 percent in the last nine years  since 2010.

This year also saw 2.6 percent more households using a variety of information and communication technologies over the internet compared to those measured in 2018.

The study also disclosed that 78.1 percent of Greek households have a broadband connection with faster internet speeds, compared to 76.1 percent in 2018.

Fully 83.4 percent of those who responded said that they have connected at least one time from a mobile, portable device during the first three months of 2019 using mobile phones, tablets or laptops, compared to 76.5 percent during the same period last year.

More than one in two Greek citizens, or 52.1 percent, also said that during the past year they have also used services related to e-governance, for their communications with different sectors of the state.

The current Greek government has also pledged to significantly upgrade the online services that the Greek state offers, in hopes of somewhat reducing the monstrous state bureaucracy which Greeks so often have to deal with.
